Robert Lee Williams, son of the late Willie Williams and Lucille Carter Williams, was born on August 29, 1934 in Barnwell, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life calmly on July 6, 2019 at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.
Robert, affectionately known as Bob, attended the public schools of Richland County and was a graduate of C.A. Johnson High School, Class of 1952. He was a dedicated employee at South Carolina State Retirement System, where he worked diligently until his retirement.
At an early age, Robert was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church of Columbia, South Carolina.
Robert was a caring and loving person. He loved to display his talent on the dance floor. He was the co-founder and lead singer of the Sons of Hope Quartet group. Robert will be remembered by all for his fashionable suits, hats, and Stacey Adams shoes. Robert was a caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Elouise Williams; three sons, Stanley Williams, Gregory Williams and Reginald English Sr.; one grandson, Ron C. Davis; step-children, Matthew Davis and Katherune Davis; two very special people, Sara J. English and Bruce English.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his daughters, Yolanda Y. English, and Denise E. Miller; sister, Janet (Willie) Brown; his children of love, Sharon E. Carter and Jeffery L. English; one niece, Ericka M. Brown; two nephews, Eric (Shannon) Brown and Michael Brown, Sr.; three aunts, Rudine Carter, Willie Mae Carter and Vida Carter; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; a friend, Mr. James Grant, Sr.; and many other family and friends that will miss him.
