Randolph Moses Ellison was born to Joseph and Ruth Ellison on November 11, 1956 in Columbia, South Carolina. He departed this life on December 7, 2019.
Randy, as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Richland County School District where he earned his high school diploma from Eau Claire High School. He later received an associate’s degree in nursing from Midland Technical College and became a Registered Nurse. He was employed at South Carolina Department of Mental Health and retired after twenty years of service and returned to work there for many years later. He also worked at Heartland Nursing Home for ten years.
Randy was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church from early childhood. Randy served in the United States Army Reserve for six years in Newberry, South Carolina. He was an avid classic car lover and antique collector. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when he heard of someone in need.
Randy leaves to cherish his memory his father, Joseph Ellison, Sr.; two sons, Ryando (Courtney) Ellison and Randell (Alisha) Ellison; a brother, Joseph Ellison, Jr.; five sisters, Christine (Leon) Scott, Lucinda Malone, Luetta Ann Thomas, Terriseda (George) Ross and Tonya Ellison; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; an uncle, J.C. Ellison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
