My condolences to the family. I worked with Bishop Belton during his time at the telephone company. He was such a delight to know. We spent many break times discussing scripture. It was no surprise when I saw the path his life took.

It is with great respect and fond rememberance of Bishop Belton that the family of Marian Lawhorn Cook and the late Julius A. Cook extend their deepest sympathy to your family. Bishop Belton was a crusader for the forgotten, the afflicted, and for those in need. His life serves as a reminder to all of us who love God, to endure to the end. The end is the beginning for this leader who sowed seeds of love, hope, peace, and joy to those he witnessed to!

You, the Belton family are at the heart of of my family's prayer right now and in the days to come. Bishop Belton was a wonder friend, neighbor and community member but above all he was a true servant-leader.

May God's continued blessings be upon you as you face the coming days and know as you have these past days God is there with you.
