Anna M. Williams, affectionately known as “Tate”, was born on April 7, 1934 to the late Emma (McKinnley) Brooks. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
Anna was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a 1956 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.
Anna was a dedicated employee with Columbia Parks and Recreation for over twenty years before her retirement.
Anna was a follower of the Jehovah’s Witness Faith.
Anna was preceded in death her mother, Emma (McKinnley) Brooks.
Anna leaves to cherish her precious memory her three children, Walter T. Williams, Rodney L. Williams, and Jackie (Freddie, Sr.) Hudson; grandchildren, Kaslo N. Gleaton, Freddie (Autumn) Hudson, Jr., Walter (Edona) Williams, III., Fatisha L. Hudson, and Fakendra (Ronald) Labrew; seven great-grandchildren, Desiree, Jabriel, Ji’onne, Eden, Liam, Mia, and Asiah; two daughters-in-law, Cynthia Gleaton and Charlotte Mickens, both of Columbia, SC; children she loved as her own, Michelle (James) Corbett-Burns and Katha L. Jenkins; grandchildren she loved as her own, Rodricous (Tamier) Corbett, Daven Corbett, Korie Corbett, Sr., Korie Corbett, Jr., Zoie Corbett, Shakera Corbett, Shaniqua Jenkins, and Brande Herbert; her dearest friend, Thomasina Bolder; a host of family, friends and loved ones.
