Mr. William L. Baker

November 9, 1950 ~ June 27, 2018 (age 67) 67 Years Old

William Leverne Baker was born on November 9, 1950 in Lake City, Florida. He was the oldest of eleven children born to William Parker and Addie Mae Maree. He departed this earth journey on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Mickey, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Columbia County, Florida and was a graduate of Richardson High School, Class of 1968.

William committed his life to Christ on July 13, 2013 and became a member of Christian Faith Fellowship of Columbia, South Carolina. At Christian Faith Fellowship, he served as a member of the Family Care Team and also a member of the Men’s Ministry. William completed a training at the church titled Kingdom Man. He used this as a road map for living until the end of this life. During course of the class, he formed a special bond with the group of men.

William retired from Galaxy Hardware on November 8, 2010. He was a faithful employee for ten years.  After retirement, William worked part-time in the custodial department at Dent Middle School where his services were very appreciated by members of the staff. On many occasions, William would come home with cookies, cake, and other gifts that staff had given him in appreciation for a job well done.

William was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

William leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving and faithful wife, Brenda Allen Baker; three sons, William Lawrence Baker of Jacksonville, FL, William Lloyd Baker of Columbia, SC, and Michael A. Curry of Jacksonville, FL; four daughters, Velisha Thomas, Sha Baker, Arzra McNeal, all of Jacksonville, FL and Patricia (Bruce) Davis of Columbia, SC; brothers, Bobby (Sherry) Parker of Rosenberg, TX, Harold Hall of Columbia, SC and Cicero Baker of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Debra (Clint) Peace of Gainesville, FL; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Gilbert (Tonica) Allen of Missouri City, TX and Richard (Phyllis) Allen of Orlando, FL; one sister-in-law,  Cynthia Harris of Palm Bay, FL; a special aunt, Rosetta Baker of Orlando, FL; God-brother, Keith (Sharon) Williams; and a host of loving relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
