My deepest sympathy to the friends and family of Rodney. We will never get used to losing our love ones in death. The reason is because we were created with everlasting life in view. No words weighty enough to do justice. The multitude of heartfelt memoirs speak to the magnitude of impact he made on the life of anyone he encountered. Family, thanks for allowing him to be our family, too. Rodney embodied music, laughter and love. Found out in a Dollar Tree and broke down in the line. Grieving never stops...BUT it does change from unbearable to sweet memories and less pain. Serving with him in ministry was destiny-fulfilling. I will pray for you, family and dearest friends, whenever I think to do so and thank God for priceless encounters with Rodney Reese- the voice, the EAR, the comedian, the worshipper, the child of God. Rest in Peace and power- Rodney.

August 10, 2018 11:06 PM

I sit in disbelief that you have exited this earth...and at such a young and promising age. As a fellow Levite (worship leader, musician, singer), my heart aches knowing that I'll never be able to greet you - giving and receiving a warm hug that spoke more than words could say. Some things we'll never understand - and your passing is one. It seems that I keep burying my musical sons and daughters. My trust in God is unquestionable, but in my humanity, I weep. I look at your picture and wonder "what happened? Lord, why?" I dare not question his sovereignty or authority, I simply asked for understanding. From one Levite to another, I can't say how I will miss your presence in the earth. With a HUGE hug from Pop & I, we love you dearly, Rodney. You're in God's most capable hands.

Jesus, I cannot believe what I have to accept. I’m still numb and in shock. I can hear you say in your own way “oh chile’ and you always called me “Quette””, a name you coined me as during our college days back at Benedict and on the Benedict College Concert Choir trips and awesome laughs😇 You always made time to acknowledge EVERYONE and you somehow made us all feel special. “I can hear you right now saying “oh chile’ all these feelings and memories”. Lol. The truth is you are an angel, a gentle humble soul that served God and loved and knew Jesus —you served your Purpose. Gone too soon. I love you!! Rest in Heaven Rodney Reese✨✨
