SFC (Ret.) John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on December 4, 1965 in Rose Hill, Mississippi to Rosia Lee Kennedy. He departed this earthly journey on Monday, May 30, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.
John was educated in the public schools of Jasper County and was a graduate of Heidel High School, Class of 1983, in Heidelberg, Mississippi. He served in the United States Army until 2005, after serving 21 years. He also was employed by EPES Corporation as a contractor with the United States Army Reserve Command.
At an early age, John was baptized at Wesley Chapter Church in Rose Hill, Mississippi. He dedicated his life to service, as not only a soldier but a civilian. He loved his family, friends, and community dearly.
John was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewayne Kennedy and Charlie Chapman; and his sister, Vanessa Kennedy.
John leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Sheila Kennedy, daughter, Candice Kennedy; two bonus children, Johnny McKenzie and LaTia McKenzie; three grandchildren, Cameron Kennedy, Leiah McKenzie, and Kelsey McKenzie; mother, Rosia Kennedy; five sisters, Antoinette Thigpen, Lora Kennedy, Mammie Chapman, Begonia (Thaddeus) Jones, and Lisa (Greg) McKenzie; eight brothers, Willie (Latasha) McMillian, George Chapman, Willie Kennedy, Doug Chapman, Michael Kennedy, Stacey Kennedy, Mario Kennedy, and Thun Kennedy; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives who will miss him dearly.
