Ms. Sheila Goodwin

Sheila Rebekah Goodwin was born on September 23, 1951 to the late George and Pauline Bowman Goodwin. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

Sheila was educated in the public school system of Richland County, South Carolina. At a young age, Sheila was employed by the South Carolina Department of Mental Health where she developed a love for helping others. She continued to work in the healthcare industry as a certified nurse and later as a caregiver. She recently became a foster grandparent with Senior Resources working at Pine Grove Elementary.

Sheila devoted her life to her family as a loving sister, mother, and aunt. Sheila was a fun-loving person who had a great spirit and a zest for life that was unparalleled. She never met a stranger and was always the life of the party.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pauline Goodwin; brothers, Wilber Richardson and Paul Goodwin; sisters, Ethelene Eichelberger, Ruby Drayton; and cousin, Lorenzo Richardson.

Sheila leaves to cherish her precious memory her son, Jarma Goodwin of Irmo, SC; daughter, Keisha (Nicholas) Butler of Irmo, SC; one grandson, Nicholas Butler, Jr.; sisters, Essie White and Priscilla Mayes both of Columbia, SC; goddaughter, Sharri (Christopher) Edwards; god-grandchildren, Aja Adams, Romeo Adams, and Krista Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
