Shawnta Victoria Lewis, born on December 4, 1987, in Cobb County, GA, peacefully entered
eternal peace on February 25, 2025, after bravely defeating cancer. Her passing leaves a
profound impact on all who knew her, but her strength, warmth, and legacy will live on in the
hearts of her loved ones.
Shawnta was the beloved daughter of Vickey and Earl Lewis. A graduate of South Aiken High
School in 2006, Shawnta went on to pursue her passion for science, earning a Bachelor of
Science in Biology from South Carolina State University in 2010. After graduation, she
embarked on a fulfilling career, working in both corrections and customer service, always with a
heart to serve others.
Her greatest joy, however, was becoming the mother of her one and only pride and joy, her son,
Malachi DeShawn Lewis. Her love for Malachi knew no bounds, and he was the light of her life.
In 2023, Shawnta courageously followed her entrepreneurial spirit, pursuing her dream of
becoming a business owner. Through hard work and determination, she built a path to success,
leaving behind a legacy of ambition and resilience.
Shawnta was deeply rooted in her faith and matured as an active member of Word of God
Church and Ministries. She participated in several church ministries, including Hearts of
Hospitality, Sparcs, the Baptism Committee, Usher Committee, and Activ8. Her contributions to
the church and its community were a testament to her kind and giving heart.
Shawnta is survived by her beloved son, Malachi; her devoted mother, Vickey; her loving sisters,
KaDonna and Jessica; and a host of family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with
her warmth, courage, and love.
Her life was a beautiful journey of love, resilience, and faith, and her memory will continue to
inspire all who knew her. Shawnta will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of
those who had the privilege of sharing in her life.
