Ms. Sarah Elizabeth "Liz" Stewart

Sarah Elizabeth Stewart, affectionately known as “Liz”, was born on March 13, 1960 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the youngest child of the late Joseph and Sarah Stewart. Sarah departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Sarah was educated in Richland County Public Schools. She received her GED and later worked at Midlands Center and Richway for several years. Sarah was diagnosed with a mental illness that was challenging for over 40 years. She loved and helped all who would allow her to show her support. Sarah accepted Christ at an early age and joined Cleaves Memorial Church. She made herself well known in the community by caring for all and showing love with her presence.  Sarah loved her nieces and nephews dearly. In her free time, she most enjoyed visiting her sister and eating her delicious cooking. She will be missed by many.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sarah Stewart; and her brother, James Stewart.

Sarah leaves to cherish her precious memory three brothers, Joseph Stewart, Melvin Stewart, and George Stewart, all of Columbia, SC; one sister, Evelyn Stewart, of Columbia, SC; two sisters-in-law, Angela Stewart, and Rosetta Stewart, both of Columbia, SC; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
