Mrs. Rosa Lee James Wilson, affectionately known as “Lil Lee”, was born May 9, 1929 in Lexington County, South Carolina to the late Lee and Beatrice Nelson James. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
At an early age, Rosa Lee was baptized at New Life Baptist Church in Cayce, South Carolina where she served faithfully on the Jubilee Choir, Woman’s Missionary and in various capacities until her health declined.
Rosa Lee was employed by Columbia Uniform Rental for over 22 years, then she went to work for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health for another 6 year before retiring. After retirement she continued to serve her community by volunteering with the Senior Resources.
Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Beatrice James; husband, Elijah Wilson, Sr; sister, Gladys James Wilson; brother, O’Neal James; and one grandson, Rafer Jones.
Rosa Lee leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Elijah Wilson, Jr of Columbia, SC; Ricky Wilson of Jacksonville, FL and Conrad (Susan) Wilson Sr of West Columbia, SC; five daughters, Ameenah (Robert) Holmes of Hampton, VA, Rose Marie Wilson of Virginia Beach, VA, Herline W. Jones, Barbara Felder Johnson and E. Demetria Wilson (Marshall) Burris all of Columbia, SC; twenty-two grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other loving relatives.
