Queen Hester Young Webb, daughter of the late Edward Jr. and Vanity Jiles Young, was born August 22, 1955 in Grays Hill, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 14, 2024 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Susie, as she was affectionately called by many, was educated in the public schools of Beaufort, SC and graduated from Battery Creek High School. She was employed at the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, C.M. Tucker Nursing Care Center in Columbia, SC, with a phenomenal 33 years of service and retired on August 4, 2018. Susie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord & Savior and became a member of Aphesis Apostolic Church in Columbia, SC.
In addition to her parents, Susie is preceded in death by her siblings, James Young, Leon Young, Catherine Young, Rosetta Moultrie and Regina Young.
Susie leaves to mourn and cherish her memories to her loving son, Quentin Colvin of Columbia, SC; four brothers, Abraham Young of Lake Placid, FL, Edward Young, III of Harrisburg, PA, Willie (Jerralyn) Young of Beaufort, SC and Joe Young of Savannah, GA; five sisters, Leola Rivers of Beaufort, SC, Idella Mitchell of Beaufort, SC, Corrine Brown of Jacksonville, NC, Sarah Smith of Columbia, SC and Rebecca (David) Staples of Chelsea, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly but rejoice that she is now with the Lord.
