Patricia Ann Davis Knotts Jenkins was born June 21, 1948, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Ollie William Davis and Ruth Ellen Matthews Davis Anthony.
Patricia was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She later attended Midlands Technical College. She worked for Richland County School District One for many years until her retirement. After retirement, Patricia spent most of her time doing what she loved, caring for her family. She assisted in raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her motherly instinct and often assisted others by giving her love, knowledge and wisdom.
Patricia was a member of North Point Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Freddy Johnson. There she served faithfully. She never forgot her home church, Greater St. Luke Baptist Church, where her foundation in the faith was established. Patricia was also a charter member of New Beginning Baptist Church where she served faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Gerald A. Tucker.
Patricia was a dedicated member of the Order of Eastern Star Modern Free and Accepted Masons of the World Scottish Right Affiliated for over 40 years. She was also a part of several other community organizations.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Jenkins; granddaughter, Sequandra “Angel” Knotts; two sisters, Mary Jane Franklin and Ruby Simmons; three brothers, James Little, Ollie Henry Davis and Alvin Davis, Jr.; and cousin, Queen Esther Smith.
Patricia leaves to cherish her precious memories her three sons, Ollie William Davis Knotts, John Romero Knotts, Sr. and Jim Jones all of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Angela (Orlando) Washington and Patricia (Michael) Brown both of Columbia, SC; one sister, Catherine Anthony of Columbia, SC; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Shakeama (Herbert) Brown; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
