Patricia began this life on November 2, 1959. She was born to the late Willie Edward Taylor and Mary Lee Taylor. Patricia peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina. The following is an account of her “Dash.”
What is in a name?
Patricia shared her parents with siblings that recalled playing silly games like Pat-A-Cake, Ms. Lucy, Hopscotch Jack & Jill, Mother, May I?, and jump rope. Over the years she received nicknames like “Moo Cow”, “Trish Ann”, and “Ti’Ti”.
Patricia was educated the public schools of Lexington County, South Carolina. During this time, she met the late Daniel Joseph Fanning, Jr. and began a family that would grow to include seven children. This is when she got the nickname, “Cricket.”
Patricia’s life’s work was best described by the names Mom, Sister, Friend, Niece, Grandma, Nana, confidant, encourager, guide, teacher, and uplifter. Her favorite pastimes included everything from cooking and baking, to walking and sunning. Yes, she liked to “sun”. She spent much of her time as a Hair Stylist, Artist, PE Teacher, Self-Defense Instructor, Referee, Party Planner, Learning Coach, and Emotional Support Coordinator. Trish enjoyed gardening, skating, writing and was a supportive business partner.

In her latter years, her personal studies and convictions led her to keep the commandments of The Most High God.
What is in a name?
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her brothers, Alphonso Goodman, and Joseph (Julia) Taylor, and Daniel Joseph Fanning Jr.; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Young.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jeramaine Fanning, Sabrina (Ricky) Robinson, Tracy Veronica (John III) Brown, Priscilla (Bevan) Jacobs, Crystal Antoinette (Dorsey) Jackson, George D’Eric Taylor, and Daniel D’Antonio Preston Trey Joseph Fanning; two bonus children, Jeramaine Fanning and Sabrina (Ricky) Robinson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; siblings, Dora Lee (Granville) White, Melvin Jerome (Gina) Taylor, Valerie Faye Young, and Antoinette Taylor; godmother, Emma (Donald) Stevenson; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many other loving relatives and caring friends, including a dear friend, Tonia Brown, all of whom will miss “Trish” dearly.
Love is what “Mama” did best.
