Patricia L. Brown's life began on April 21, 1950 in Savannah, Georgia. She was the eldest of two daughters born to Willie Brown and the late Sarah Brown.
The Brown family relocated to Harlem, New York in 1956. several years later, the family relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where they remained. Patricia matriculated through the public school system graduating from Franklin K. Lane High School.
After graduating from Franklin K. Lane, Patricia was hired as a Sales Consultant for a prominent department store, Abraham & Strauss, in Brooklyn, New York. A new career path led her to Housing where she worked as an Administrative Assistant.
In 2001, an extended family member invited Patricia to Columbia, South Carolina to visit and explore. After giving it much consideration, Patricia decided to make South Carolina her new home. She interviewed and accepted her first job in South Carolina at Jiffy Lube where she worked as Front Desk Assistant. After a short time there, Patricia, being the great achiever she always has been, interviewed at the Double Tree Hotel where she started as a Reservationist, ultimately moving up to Supervisor of Reservations.
As her new found journey began, Patricia always said God placed some wonderful friends in her life. To name a couple, Feleicia Cannon who introduced her to church where she was eventually baptized, and Shirley "Pat" Ford who taught how to drive which gave the word freedom a whole new meaning. Patricia had accumulated an immeasurable number of friends who are always willing to lend a helping hand.
Seeking to broaden her family tree, Patricia reconnected in recent years with her first cousin Alison (Byron) Johnson of Durham, North Carolina. They immediately developed an unbreakable bond which eventually brought both families together. The families were making plans to spend Thanksgiving together but unbeknown to us, God had other plans.
Patricia leaves behind to cherish and honor her memories, her father, Willie Brown; sister, Williette Brown; nephew, Ian Brown; niece, Kendra Brown; one uncle, one aunt, and a host of friends and extended family who have had the pleasure of being a part of her life.
Patricia L. Brown, you will forever be missed and remain in our hearts.
