Ms. Mary Jane Davis Jamison

Mary Jane Davis Jamison was born on April 7, 1934 in Richland County to the late Rosa Lee Davis Adams. She departed this earthly journey on December 1, 2019 at JF Hawkins Nursing home in Newberry, South Carolina.

Mary Jane was educated in the public schools of Richland County.

Mary Jane was a faithful member of New Light Beulah Baptist Church until her death.

Mary Jane was employed by many dry cleaning companies and retired from Burnett’s & Sons Cleaners as a press machine operator.  If you wanted your shirts immaculate, she was the one.

Mary Jane had a great sense of fashion. She loved wearing extravagant hats to match her outfits. She was known for her cooking and her love for beautiful flowers. She took pride in having a beautiful array of flowers in her yard. Her smile was contagious.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Lee Davis Adams; and brothers, JD Sumter, Joseph Sumter, Henry Davis, Robert Davis and Paul Davis.

Mary Jane leaves to cherish her precious memory her four loving sisters, Lucy Smith of Stone Mountain, GA, Rosa Mitchell and Ellen (Lloyd) Lumpkin of Columbia, SC, and Brenda Scott of Eastover, SC; three sisters-in-law, Mary E. Davis of Hopkins, SC, Mary L. Davis of Columbia, SC, and Evelyn Sumter of Hopkins, SC; one godson, Elder Madison Charles Lumpkin, Sr. of Clinton, MD; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
