Ms. Marie Brown Obituary
Marie Elsa Brown, ne’e Pierre, was born April 5, 1967 in Jeremie, Grand Anse, Haiti to the late Leanne L’esperance Pierre and Michel Pierre. She began her next great adventure on November 25, 2022.
Elsa attended primary school at Pressoir Jerome & College St. Louis. She later moved to Germany to start another chapter of her life at the young age of seventeen. There, she met Gary Eugene Brown and they soon married and moved to the United States. Their union was blessed with one son, Jordan Taylor Brown.
Elsa obtained her Associate’s Degree from Midlands Technical College after moving to Columbia, South Carolina. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare from Kaplan University and her Master’s Degree from Webster University.
Elsa attended International Churches of Christ and there she met her lifelong friend, Charmaine Denise.
Elsa worked as a Benefits Analyst with Blue Cross Blue Shield for over twenty years. There she extended her family even more through her love, kindness, Joie de Vivre, and most of all her infectious laugh. She had a joy for everything from pound cake to Zumba. She was devoted to every member of her family, both given and chosen.
In addition to her parents, Elsa was preceded in death by her sister, Claire Marie Servil; and her fur baby, Jack Brown.
Elsa leaves to cherish her precious memory her son, Jordan Taylor; granddaughter, Naomi Elsa; siblings, Dylia (Jean) Latendresse, Pierre Richard (Bernadette) Boudreau, Daguy Pierre, Ronald (Virginie) Pierre, Karine (Neil) Mayas, and Joelle (Rigal) Mayas; nieces and nephews, Dounia Latendresse, Jane Alexia (Barry) Wood, Melissa Pickering Boudreau, Daniel Pickering Boudreau, Gracita Pickering Boudreau, Cassanddre Pickering Boudreau, David Dorval, Jessica Pierre (Justin) Hendry, Stanley Pierre, Maya Civil, Raphael Civil, Nedgie Brutus Armand; grand-nieces and grand-nephews; her four legged baby, Rubicon; and an abundance of other family and friends.
