Magnolia Williams affectionately known as “Slick-JYD” was born to the late James and Thomasina Williams on August 27, 1954. Magnolia departed this life on November 11, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland, after a long battle of cancer.
Magnolia was educated in the Columbia, South Carolina school system. She was employed as a painter for Trinity Painting, Colorful Painting, 3 Piece Painting and many more. Magnolia was also a wonderful cook at Thomasina’s Southern Diner.
Magnolia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the life of the party; her presence could light up the world. Magnolia loved family gatherings, dancing, and large crowds.
Magnolia Williams was preceded in death by her parents James and Thomasina Williams; sisters, Cynthia Williams, Hattie Pearl Smith, Yvonne Corley, Deloris McCants, and Doris Caldwell; brothers, Thomas Williams, Bennie Williams, Jerimiah Williams, Sylvester Hayes, and John Anderson; and grandson, Jalen Brown.
Magnolia Williams leaves to mourn her passing; her daughters, Sadaria D. Williams, and Sharon D. Williams of Columbia, South Carolina; godson’s James (Long) Patterson, Travis Tucker, both of Columbia, South Carolina, and Jerome Lomax, of Greenville, SC; Sisters Gloria E. Hunter, Barbara A. Watts, Eunice Williams, and Jean Green all of Columbia, SC; brothers, Steffon (Von) Williams, Charles (Jackie) Williams of Columbia, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jemond Williams, Tyesha Williams, Suteria Brown, Cornelius Williams, Arneisha Williams and Antonio Brown, all of Columbia, South Carolina; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of many loving relatives and friends whom will miss her dearly.
