Janda Jerika Redden, affectionately known as “Jada”, was born on July 18, 1984 in Darlington, South Carolina to Angela Moses and James Redden. She departed this earthly life on October 11, 2021 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Janda was educated in the public schools of Darlington County and was a graduate of Darlington High School, Class of 2003. Throughout high school, she was a member of the volleyball, basketball, and track teams.
Janda attended Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina, and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. While at Morris, Janda continued to run track and play volleyball. She was also initiated into the Xi Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Shortly after graduation, Janda began working at Verizon Wireless where she worked for thirteen years. Her motivation to further her career drove her to enroll back in school to get a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, which she was scheduled to receive in February of 2022.
In her spare time, Janda loved to travel, watch the Dallas Cowboys play, spend time with her family, and spoil her baby, Malaiyah.
Janda was preceded in death by her grandmother, Louella Smith Price; grandfather, Lucious Redden Sr.; and aunt, Delores Redden.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her precious daughter, Malaiyah Small; her loving parents, Angela and Danny Moses; father, James Redden; sister, Courtney Smith; four brothers, James Smith, Roderick Smith, Rodregus (Nicole) Smith, and Cortez Smith; grandparents, Joe Price and Elsie Redden; two nieces, Mackenzie and Autumn; three nephews, Jayln, Deandre, and Malachi; two aunts, Dorothy (Henry) Jacobs, Jeanette (Mitchell) Lane; uncle, Lucious (Darlean) Redden; two step-sisters, Shenea Smith and Latikki (Tedrick) West; step-brother, Tamorris Burns; two step-nephews, Tedrick West, Jr. and Elijah Smith; step-nieces, Makayla and Samia Burns; godmother, Tammy Perkins; special cousins, Shikia Oyer who was raised as a sister, Felicia Smith and Latoya (Laquentin) Mila; four godchildren, Kalaijah “Lay Lay” Bacote, Brian Ramsey Jr., Ma’Kayla Davis, and Chloe McAlister; a very special friend, Terrell Small and his son, Oreion Small; and a host of other loving family and dear friends whom will all miss her dearly.
