Helen Ruth Puckett was born on October 4, 1946 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Eugene and Ruth Knuckles. She departed this earthly life on November 7, 2020.
Helen was a graduate of Carver High School. She later received her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Library Science from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.
In the early years of her career, Helen taught elementary school in Maryland. She was subsequently employed by the United States Postal Services as a postal clerk where she proudly served for 28 years until her retirement in 2007.
Helen enjoyed her retirement years immensely. She was able to nurture and cultivate her love for gardening and enjoyed beautiful flowers and plants. She delighted especially in her sons and grandchildren and was dubbed as the family photographer and historian.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory John Puckett; two sons, Craig (Laurel) Jeffries and Bryan (Lakesha) Jeffries; five grandchildren: Kali, Olivia, Daniel, Vivian and Zane; one sister, Lorraine Adams (Al) of Fairfax, Virginia; one brother, Ralph Knuckles of Washington D.C.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased in death by one sister, Sandra L. Townes and one brother, Eugene Knuckles, II.
