Geneva Cheeseboro was born on August 7, 1939, in Lone Star, South Carolina to the late Curvey and Jessie Mae Cheeseboro. She departed this earthly journey on January 3, 2022.
Geneva was educated in the public schools of Richland County and attended Booker T. Washington High School.
At an early age, Geneva was baptized at First Nazareth Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina where her family regularly worshipped.
During her years of employment, Geneva worked for Wade Hampton Hotel, WOIC Radio Station and the Workshop Theater.
Geneva dedicated her life to her loved ones and community. She was actively involved with various civil rights organizations, focusing on the equality of African Americans and was a Ward One Alumni.
In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her brothers, David Cheeseboro, Anthony Cheeseboro, Michael Cheeseboro, and Alfred Cheeseboro; one sister, Juanita Peterson; and one granddaughter, Kemaro Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children; Kenneth Lee Cheeseboro, Benjamin Tyrone Cheeseboro and Belinda (Kenneth) Brown; three brothers; Joe Nathan Cheeseboro, Conrad (Almedia) Cheeseboro and Phillip Cheeseboro; three sisters, Martha Oree, Carolyn Worthy and Ruberta Manning; two granddaughters, Deltoya Brown and Angie Grant; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
