Frances Thompson Tidwell, affectionately called “Lil Cuda”, was born November 16, 1926 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Jennie Davis. On Tuesday, June 24, 2020, she transitioned to her Heavenly home.
Frances was educated in Richland County public schools and continued her education as a licensed cosmetologist.
At an early age, she was baptized at Temple Zion Baptist Church where she served on various organizations. To know her was to love her.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Isaiah Davis; her beloved husband, James “Bubba” Tidwell, Jr.; her daughters, Joann Tidwell and Rosalind Tidwell-Jenkins; siblings, Ethel Spry, Desiree Davis, Isaiah and Bill Davis.
Frances leaves to cherish her precious memory, her loving granddaughter, Bianca R. Tidwell; nieces and nephews, DeJoyce (Ed) Hall, Norma Goodwin, Thomas (Barbara) Spry, Rudy Spry, Angela Davis, MD and Chermark Pettigrew; cousins, Teresa (Robert) Kitt, Curtis (Loretta) Shell, Chris (Casandra) Boyd; a special cousin, Edna Boyd; Goddaughter, Monica Hoefer; son-in-law, William H. Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Marion Davis, Dorothy Brannon, Edith Tidwell, and Bertha Sightler; and a host of other loving cousins, relatives, and friends.
