Ms. Clarestine Braxton

Clarestine Amelia Braxton (Smith) was born September 27, 1949 to the William “Bill” Smith and the late Catherine Morgan. She grew up in Newark, New Jersey attending Peshine Avenue Elementary and Central High School within the Newark Public School System. 

Clarestine spent her adult life working at Newark Airport, New Jersey State Police Department, Newark Sanitation, and Newark Fire Department from which she retired as Fire Inspector.

Those that know her, knew that Clarestine was loved by and loved many, but she loved nothing more than her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Clarestine was was predeceased by her mother, Catherine; brothers, Harold, and Anthony; sister Juanita; and best friend, Mary “Bunny”.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her father, William; her son, Bruce; two daughters, Dennell “Dennie” and Kaleemah; five grandsons, Bruce Jr, Shadon, Fuquan, Lamir and King; two granddaughters, Allesse and Raiyn; her siblings, Glenn “Butch” Lucas, Evattie Harrison, Miriam “Robin” Daniels, Captoria “Deborah” Crews, Joan Parrish and Anita Mccalla; and a host of other family and friends.
