Blondell Brooks was born on December 3, 1950, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, to the late Jessie James and Elise Ashford. She departed this life on May 27, 2023.
Blondes was educated in the public school system of Fairfield County and was a proud graduate of McCrorey-Liston High School, Class of 1967. Blondell loved her family and friends. She was married to Sandie Leroy Brooks.
Blondell had a zest for life and loved to travel. She also had a love for cars, a witty personality, and was a connoisseur of all types of music. When she entered the room, it lit up with her infectious smile. To know “Blon”, as she was affectionately called, was to love her.
In addition to her parents, Blondell was preceded in death by her husband, Sandie Leroy Brooks; daughter, Melissa Sandell Brooks; brother, Johnnie Ashford; and sister Baby Girl Ashford.
Blondell leaves to cherish her memories her three daughters, Tamela Brooks and Dwanda Brooks both of Hampton, VA, and Breana Haltiwanger of Gastonia, NC; six grandchildren, Kayla Abney, DeQuan Kinney, MacKenzie Harvin, Logen Wolfe, David (Ruben) Loynes, and Baby Girl Loynes; one brother, Willie Lee Ashford of Columbia, SC; one sister-in-law, Cora Mae (Johnnie) Ashford of Winnsboro, SC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
