Ms. Ada K. Buchannon

Ada Buchannon was born in Newberry, South Carolina on May 2, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Mr. William and Mrs. Frances Clark Buchannon. On Friday, December 25, 2020, she departed this earthly life and entered unto glory.

Ada, affectionately known as “Kat” or “Aunt Kat”, was a loving soul complete with conversation and laughter. She loved talking, laughing and would hold a conversation that you were sure to laugh at the end. In her early years, she used to walk great distances from one side of town to the other to see more sights as well as meet more people. She was an avid rider of the bus system and on days she did not feel to walk she would ride the bus to converse instead.

Aunt Kat was a compassionate woman who gave a lot and asked for little to nothing in return. If you were hungry she would feed you. If you needed a place to stay than she would give you a space to stay. She was a nice lady as long as you did not cross her.

Though her presence on this earth has ended loving memories of her and her conversations as well as laughter will forever ring in our ears and hearts.

Ada was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie Mae Frances Buchannon, Gladys Buchannon Hopkins, Jessie Buchannon Mack, Evelyn Buchannon Williams, William Buchannon, and James Buchannon.

Ada leaves to cherish her precious memories to her sons, Terry Buchannon, and David Buchannon; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
