Mrs. Willette Lavern Green Reid

Mrs. Willette Lavern Green Reid was born on September 14, 1953, in Columbia, SC. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Cornelia Green. Willette passed away on March 15, 2025. 

Willette was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. She graduated from Dreher High School. She later attended MUSC and Midlands Technical College. She was a supervisor with the American Red Cross. Willette taught Phlebotomy and CNA courses. She went on to receive her LPN license.

Willette accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 12. She was the Vacation Bible School Coordinator. She recently received became a Notary Public for the State of South Carolina. She was a woman of many talents, too many to name. She was an avid reader and her past times consisted of completing puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Willie and Cornelia Green, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley H. Brooks.

Willette leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband of 37 years, Maxzelleria U. Reid; son, Darrien M. Reid; three grandchildren, Destiny Reid, Jordyn Reid, and Quran Scott; three sisters, Annie Laurie Hipps, Janice Barber, Cheryl Kelley; a daughter-niece, Briandria Kelley; a god-son, Rashad Kelley; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
