Mrs. Valeria Coaxum-Parker

Valeria Coaxum-Parker was born April 24, 1957 in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late George Turnipseed and Ara Lee Pearson Turnipseed. At the age of 62, she gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, October 17, 2019.

Valeria was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a proud graduate of Eau Claire High School Class of 1975.

At a young age, Valeria attended Ridgewood Baptist Church where she was a member of the LC Chavis Choir. In 2003 Valeria and her husband, “Parker”, joined First Nazareth Baptist Church where she was a hard-working dedicated member. She was actively involved with Deaconess Ministry, The Charmettes, Eastern Stars Martha Chapter #510, Young Ministry, The WMYL Ministry, Breakfast Buddies, Cancer Support Ministry, Drama Ministry, Greeter Ministry, and Boy Scouts. Valeria dedicated countless and selfless hours behind the scenes of various ministries and organizations, ensuring they maintained order and structure.

Valeria started her career at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and later dedicated twenty-seven years to FedEx where she subsequently retired.

Valeria dedicated her life to her family, loved ones, and community. Nothing gave her greater joy than “Her Girls”, in which she was extremely proud of.

Valeria was preceded in death by her father, George Turnipseed.

Valeria leaves to cherish her precious memory, her loving husband of fifteen years, Robert E. Parker; two daughters, Lesia E. Coaxum, and Levette (Anthony) Morris all of Columbia, SC; mother, Ara L. Turnipseed of Columbia, SC; three step-children, Mario and Taras Parker both of Columbia, SC, and Marty Davidson of Texas; two brothers, Marion Johnson of Maryland, and Robert Turnipseed of Ridgewood, SC; a sister, Yvette Turnipseed of Columbia, SC; a brother-in-law, JC (Rachel) Parker of Lancaster, SC; two nephews, Darius and Michael Turnipseed of Columbia, SC; a niece, Tiffany Johnson of Maryland; and a host of other loving relatives and friends whom all will miss her dearly.
