With hearts full of love and sorrow, we remember the radiant life of Mrs. Sindia Edwards
Rondon. Born on June 24, 1957, in Lake City, South Carolina, Sindia brought light and joy to
everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. Sindia passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025
in Columbia, South Carolina.
A proud graduate of Johnsonville High School, Sindia pursued her passion for science and
learning, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Benedict College. It was in Columbia,
South Carolina, that she met the love of her life, Heriberto Rondon. The two were united in
marriage in 1990 and shared over three decades of laughter, love, and unwavering
companionship. Her heart was forever changed on New Year’s Eve of 2024, when she bid
farewell to her beloved husband.
Sindia had a joyous spirit and a warmth that could fill any room. Her laughter was
contagious—bright, unfiltered, and full of life. She carried no judgment in her heart, always
embracing the uniqueness in others with grace and kindness. Her soul was as generous as it was
joyful.
She adored her family, believing that every holiday—big or small—was an opportunity to gather
and celebrate the ones she loved. Christmas, in particular, was her favorite. She delighted in
giving, often showering others with thoughtful gifts whether or not she received anything in
return. Her selflessness and giving nature were unmatched.
Sindia also had a passion for travel and cooking, often preparing meals for the joy of it—even if
she didn’t always partake. Her love for the beach was ever-present; she found peace walking
along the shore, soaking in the serenity of the ocean breeze.
She is preceded in death by her devoted parents, Charles Henry Edwards and Jannie Mae
Mouzon Edwards, and her beloved husband, Heriberto Rondon.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted brothers, Tonney Edwards of Florence, South
Carolina, and Jerry Lee Edwards of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and her loving sisters:
Rachel Edwards of Johnsonville, South Carolina, Emma Jane Cooper of Lake City, South
Carolina, Thomasena Edwards of Florence, South Carolina, Trudy (Melvin) Hyman and Bessie
(Bill) Isable both of New York, and Berth Zouck of Atlantic City, New Jersey.
She is also survived by a large and loving extended family—numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,
and dear friends—all of whom will miss her immensely and remember her as the bright, loving,
and extraordinary woman she was.
In our hearts forever, Sindia’s legacy lives on in the joy she spread, the kindness she gave freely,
and the laughter that still echoes in our memories. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with
her love, wrapped in the embrace of those who went before her.
