Shawanna Terquardis Griffin Williams, affectionately known as “Bama”, was born on April 15, 1976 in Columbia, South Carolina to Willie C. Belton and Karen Griffin. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
Shawanna was raised in Blythewood, South Carolina and educated in Richland School District Two where she graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1994. She first pursued higher education at Georgia Southern University and then attended Midlands Technical College until her recent diagnosis. She was employed at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina for 13 years and Prisma Health for two years.
Shawanna gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, of Woodford, South Carolina, where she served as the church secretary, member of the Mass Choir, and director of the Combined Youth Choir.
Shawanna leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband, Jeremy Williams; two daughters, Destiny Canzater and Jayda Williams; one son, Jeremiah Williams; one grandson, Jayce Jacobs; father, Willie C. Belton of Elgin, SC; mother, Karen Griffin of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Tiffany Belton of Elgin, SC; Ashley Belton of Rock Hill, SC; five brothers, Lorenzo and Aorenzo Griffin of Columbia, SC, Demetrius Belton of Atlanta, GA, Ryan Samuel of Elgin, SC, and Gilbert (Stacy) Bright of Columbia, SC; mother-in-law, Gloria Williams of Columbia, SC; father-in-law, Jimmie (Paulette) Williams of Cassatt, SC; one brother-in-law, Tirrell Williams of New Haven, Connecticut and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
