Kathleen Virginia Lott, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and so much more, passed away on October 16, 2024 at the age of 69.
Kathleen, affectionately known as Kat, was born on February 17, 1955 to Virginia Patterson (Hampton) and Charles Patterson Sr. in Columbia, SC. She was the third of eight children and relished being in charge as an older sibling; she had a big personality and an even bigger smile. While growing up, family trips to New York in the family station wagon, playing softball after meeting, card games, and drawing were all favorite pastimes. After Kat graduated from Benedict College, she went on to teach art to elementary school students. Later, on December 16, 1989, she was united in marriage to Walter R. Lott and they made a beautiful home together for their family. Taking family vacations and singing were some of her favorite hobbies. Performing with “The Golden Groove” band was one of her favorite activities. By far, the greatest joy Kat found in life was her relationship with her creator, Jehovah God, and her service to him. She especially enjoyed serving as a pioneer for the last 35 years alongside her dear husband, participating in metropolitan witnessing, traveling to where the need for Kingdom preachers is great, and various other forms of service. Her genuine faithfulness and loving attitude will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her father, Charles Patterson, Sr.
Kathleen leaves behind to cherish many fond memories, her husband, Walter R. Lott of Hopkins, SC; daughters Keiko D. Lott of Walterboro, SC and Jenecia T. Leiva (Jóse) of Graham, NC; grandchildren D'Adrionah Salas of Leesville, SC, D'Vauge Lott of Spartanburg, SC, D'Khari Lott, Keiko Lewie, Elián Leiva of Graham, NC and Liliana Leiva of Graham, NC; siblings Charles Patterson Jr. (Christa) of Columbia, SC, Charlette Perry (Eddie) of Hopkins, SC, Rudolph Patterson (Eleanor) of Columbia, SC, Audrey Coleman (Keith) of Columbia, SC, Anthony Patterson (Gwendolyn) of Seneca, SC, Jackie Little (Reggie) of Hopkins, SC, and Frank Patterson of Columbia, SC; along with 5 great grandchildren, 3 aunts, and a whole host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and a spiritual family.
