Inetta I. Johnson, affectionately known as “Nell” or “Baby”, was born on July 5, 1939, in Lone Star, South Carolina. She was the oldest of the late Kirby and Nellie Irick. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
Inetta attended Lincoln High School in Calhoun County, SC. She was employed at the University of South Carolina and became a supervisor of the Housekeeping Division. Later in life, Inetta became employed by Craft-Farrow Hospital and was the Director of the Environmental Services-Housekeeping Division. Inetta served in this position for 31 years until she retired.
She loved cooking for her family and was especially known for her “Famous Sweet Potato Pie” as well as a host of other dishes. She was a member of Second Nazareth Baptist Church and a part of the Second Nazareth Mass Choir and Missionary Board.
In addition to her parents, Inetta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hampton Johnson.
Inetta leaves to cherish her precious memory seven children, Shirley (Mike) Diaz, Lowann Johnson, Betty (Joel) Livingston, Lewis (Cheryl) Johnson, Hampton (Joy) Johnson, Jr. all of Columbia, SC, Cynthia (Victor) Roberts of Marietta, GA, and Shonney (Anthony) Livingston of Clarksburg, MD; two brothers, Kirby (Carrie) Irick and William (Gwendolyn) Irick; one sister, Mattie Wright; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
