Mrs. Gloria E Swanson

Gloria Elnora Reed Swanson was born on October 9, 1950 to the late John Harmon and Essie Mae Mitchell Reed. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.

Gloria attended public schools in Lexington County and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1968. She was a former member of Bible Way Church on Piedmont Avenue and later became a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Harmon and Essie Mae Mitchell Reed; her siblings, Sylvia, Barbara Ann, Anthony Kelvin, Bobby, Darien and John Wayne.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Eric Swanson; four sons, Barry (LaSonya) Reed, Sr., Samuel Reed, Byron Reed, Bradley West, and Jonathan Swanson; two daughters, Tammy West, and Astrida (Laquarius) West Summers; three grandchildren raised in the home, Reed, Jaylin and Tyson; one brother, Gregory Reed; two sisters, Jacquelyn (Jesse) Mack and Sharon (Roscoe) Holmes;  two aunts, Lillie Mae Glen and Thelma Weeks; one uncle Edward Weeks; two sisters-in-law, Chelock Mitchell and Cassandra Faye Reed.

She will be dearly missed by all. We look forward to the day when she will hear Jesus’ voice and come back to life in Jehovah’s new system, where she can be reunited with her family and friends with the joy of doing what she loved the most-fishing and traveling.
