Mrs. Eugenia Willis

Eugenia Delores Thompkins-Willis, affectionately known as Genie, was born the youngest of seven children on December 2, 1959, in Miami, Florida to the late Louise Mathis-Thompkins and Sylvester Thompkins. On September 7, 2022, she accepted God’s hand to eternal rest and everlasting peace.

Genie graduated from Miami Central Senior High School. She went on to study Finance and Business Management at Broward Community College, where she received her Associates Degree. Later, Genie received her bachelor’s degree of Theology.

Genie has always been considered a leader, she has owned several businesses throughout her lifetime and if she was not the owner, she was a leader on any job she held. She was very bright and had a heart of gold. Genie chose to put God first and her greatest accomplishment was starting her own church, One in Christ Ministries, along with the help of her loving husband, Lee. Saving souls became her new mission and spreading the word of God became her newfound love.

In addition to her parents, Genie was predeceased in death by her daughter, Micalin Garland; brothers, Sylvester Thompkins, Jr. and Ulysses Thompkins.

Genie leaves to cherish memories to her husband and best friend of over 40 years Lee Willis; daughter, Vanessa Thomas; granddaughters, Micalin Johnson and Jayda Mackey; siblings, Barbara-Ann Howard, Annie Thompkins, Shirley-Ann Thompkins, and Bruce Thompkins; and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
