Mrs. Constance V. Jenkins was born on December 17, 1947, in Columbia, SC to the late Hattie
Gilmore and John Gilmore. She was educated in the Richland County District One school system
and was a graduate of C.A. Johnson High School class of 1966.
In that same year, Constance was united in holy matrimony to her high school true love, Mr.
Tommie L. Jenkins; with whom she had been married for 58 years upon her passing. This union
produced three wonderful children, Jacqueline, Tommie, Jr. and Jocelyn; as well as a lifetime of
family memories, that will not soon be forgotten. Constance worked the majority of her
employment years in the retail sales industry and was habitually known for her dedication,
attention to detail and her invaluable customer service. Through those years of service, she
encountered many individuals, some that produced relationships that endured to this day, along
with the many other friends and family members by whom she will be truly missed.
Constance was proceeded in death by her parents as well as a son-in-law, Darryl L. Singleton,
and a daughter-in-law, Joyce G. Jenkins.
She is survived by her husband, Tommie L. Jenkins, Sr.; two daughters, Jacqueline V. Singleton
and Jocelyn Jenkins; one son, Tommie L. Jenkins, Jr.; two grandchildren, Darryl L. Singleton, Jr,
and Jaleza V. Jones; as well as three great-grandchildren; and host of other loving relatives and
friends.
