Claudia Dean Norman was born June 30, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York to the recently departed Bishop Jerome Norman (April 2020) and Mother Joni D. Norman. Through this union, the Normans had three children: Claudia Dean Norman, Celeste Renee Norman and Jerome Anthony Norman. A few years later, God gave them another daughter, Wanda Michelle Wright. Claudia was the eldest of the four. At the age of 69, Claudia transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Claudia excelled academically as a student who received her education from the public schools of Brooklyn and Queens, New York. Claudia’s academic concentrations were administrative skills which was the field of work she later entered. Claudia was a graduate of John Adams High School.
Claudia, a music prodigy, sang, played the piano, and trained choirs at an early age at her father’s church (Full Gospel Mission COGIC, Queens, New York). Claudia sang with gospel greats such as Donnie McClurkin, The Clark Sisters (COGIC National Choir), Butch Hayward and The Hayward Singers, late greats Timothy Wright and the Concert Choir, Benny Crummings, Mattie Moss Clark and with many others.
Claudia married Joseph Carl Price at the early age of 20 and, through their union, they had three daughters: Shanraé Chereé Price, Kelly Cherelle Price (R&B Legend) and Sakina Grace Price. Claudia became a young widow and raised her three girls as a single mother. Claudia trained her girls to sing, but not just sing...to saaaang. Through her teachings and training, The Price Sisters became young gospel sensations which opened doors for them to be known globally.
Claudia married Bishop Albert Neil North on August 13, 2007, and they became known as Bishop and Claudine. The two would minister together impacting lives wherever they would go. Bishop would be preaching, prophesying, and praying while Claudia was singing, playing, preaching, praying, prophesying alongside him (“The Dynamic Duo”).
Claudia impacted so many lives nationwide while fervently serving the Lord and was never ashamed to tell others of God’s goodness. Anointed was her surname and power-impacted was she. Claudia dedicated her life to her family, loved ones, her ministry and the community. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. To know her was to love her.
Claudia was preceded in death by her brother, Jerome A. Norman, III (1977), affectionately known as “Jerry”; late husband, Joseph C. Price (1983); daughter, Sakina Grace Price-Troop (2014); and father, Bishop Jerome Norman (April 2020).
Claudia leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, Bishop Albert Neil North; two daughters, Shanrae’ Cheree Price-Owens (Dupree Owens), and Kelly Cherelle Price; mother, Joni D. Norman; two sisters, Celeste Renee Norman-Hicks, and Wanda Wright Mobley (David Mobley); five God-given children (Bishop’s children): sons, Elder Dr. Latron (Dawn), Andron and Reece (Marquita) North; daughters, Sheka J. Hart and Aranda Bell; twenty-six grandchildren (thirteen grandchildren and thirteen God-given grandchildren); five great-grandchildren (four great-grandchildren and one God-given great-grandchild); eight God-given sisters and brothers-in-love; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We loved and cherished her and never wanted to let her go, but God loved her most and carried her to her heavenly home.
