Betty Jeffers Washington was born on November 6, 1961, to the late Andrew M. Jeffers, Sr. and Christeen Jeffers in West Columbia, South Carolina. She peacefully passed away on March 17, 2024.
Betty, affectionately known as “Phebe” and “Mrs. Betty”, was educated in the public schools of Lexington County and was a proud graduate of Airport High School. She later relocated to Auburn, Massachusetts where she worked as a Quality Inspectorat AstraZeneca. She later earned her Associate degree at Quinsigamond Community College where she graduated with honors. Phebe was passionate about baking, home decorating, artificial flower arrangements, and watching Carolina Basketball. She loved to spend time with her family and dedicated her life to her children.
Phebe was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and woman of God. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
Phebe is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Macy Stephorn Washington of West Columbia, SC; three children, Marcia Shanae’ Washington of Fayetteville, NC, Macy (Kim) Stephorn Wachington II, and Marquez Shane Washington both of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Briana Washington and Cadence Washington; mother, Christeen Jeffers of West Columbia, SC; four sisters, Patricia Jeffers, Helena (Tony) Pearson, Darlene (Joey) Amiker, and Ronnette (Robert) Briggsall of Columbia, SC; one brother, Andrew (Nita) Jeffers, Jr. of Columbia, SC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,
