Alfreda Hankins was born on March 21, 1950, to the late Raymond and Mattie Fairnot in Columbia, South Carolina. She was one of six children. She departed this earthly existence on Monday, May 30, 2022.
Alfreda was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a proud graduate of C. A. Johnson High School, Class of 1968. Shortly after graduating, Alfred married the love of her life, James Hankins. Their union produced three sons and one bonus son. She spent many years working in manufacturing before she chose to enjoy retirement.
Alfreda was a faithful member of Belmont Baptist Church and was a member of the Outreach Ministry. While Alfreda was a woman of few words, she was extremely kind and welcoming to everyone she met. She was very family oriented and was a beloved member of her family and community.
In addition to her parents, Alfreda was preceded in death by her three brothers, Raymond Fairnot, Jr., Douglas Fairnot, and David Fairnot.
Alfreda leaves to treasure her memory her loving husband, James Hankins; four sons, Ryan (Karen) Jones of Dallas, GA, Aldwin (Michelle) Hankins of Princeton, TX, Randall Hankins of Columbia, SC, and Jerion (Octavia) Hankins of Columbia, SC; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaree Pinkney of Hyattsville, MD; one brother, Anthony (Karen) Fairnot of Tacoma, WA; mother-in-law, Corinthina Hankins of Columbia, SC; two brothers-in-law, John Hankins and Edward Hankins both of Columbia, SC; four sisters-in-law, Wanda Hankins, Randy Hankins, and Betty Fairnot all of Columbia, SC, and Cynthia Belton of Spartanburg, SC; and a number of nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends who will all miss her dearly.
