Wilbert Hudson was born on May 24, 1948, in Blaney, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Brooks Sr. and Laura Gibbs Hudson. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Providence Hospital Northeast.
Wilbert was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. He was employed at Clemson University for over 29 years driving tractors. He was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for faithful service from the Governor of South Carolina.
He began his walk with the Lord at an early age. He was baptized and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Elgin, South Carolina.
Wilbert was a quiet, humble, warmhearted and giving person. He loved children. His favorite hobbies were playing pool, playing cards and hanging out with the guys. He was dearly loved and respected by many in his community.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Brooks Sr. and Laura Gibbs Hudson; brother, Brooks Hudson Jr.; sisters, Rosetta Jacobs, Laura Bell Hudson Lyles, Sophia Gadson and Shirley Hudson.
