In Loving Memory of Mr. Vincent Lee Canady
January 13, 1963 – June 22, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Mr. Vincent Lee Canady, who transitioned peacefully on June 22, 2025, at the home of his beloved baby sister, Doris, surrounded by love and care. He was 62 years old.
Vincent was born on January 13, 1963, in Dover, North Carolina, the cherished son of the late Richard Lee Canady, Sr. and Lillian Marie Canady. He was the second to the youngest of eight siblings, raised in a close-knit and faith-filled family. He received his education in the public schools of Dover and was baptized at an early age at Queen Chapel AME Zion Church, where he began his spiritual journey.
A gifted and dedicated electrician, Vincent built a longstanding career with Hunter Specialties, Inc. His talent and commitment led him to new opportunities as he relocated first to Charleston, South Carolina, and later to Columbia, South Carolina, where he continued to work faithfully for the company for many years.
Vincent was a man who embraced life’s simple joys. He loved fishing, cutting grass, working with his hands, and spending time outdoors. He was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and had a deep appreciation for old school music, often filling his days with the sounds of classic soul and R&B. He brought laughter, wisdom, and warmth to everyone who knew him, and his presence left an imprint on many hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents and now joins them in eternal rest. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, Ashley Canady and Vincent Canady; his siblings: Shelia Williams, Betty Canady, Kimberly Scott, Doris Gaites, Richard Canady, Jr. (Debra), Wayne Lee Williams, and Jerry Coward (Diane); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will remember him with love and admiration.
Vincent Lee Canady will be remembered as a hardworking man of quiet strength, deep love, and steady faith. His legacy lives on through his family and all those blessed to have known him. His transition was peaceful, his life well-lived, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
