Mr. Vincent Austin, son of the late Roosevelt Lee Austin, Sr. and the late Beatrice Little Austin, was born on July 29, 1961, in Orangeburg County. He was called to enteral rest on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
Vincent received his formal education in the public schools in Bowman, South Carolina. He was a 1980 graduate of Bowman High School.
Vincent was employed with Little Construction Company in his early years. He continued his work ethic to Greenwood Mill until the company closed. He then become employed with RED Construction Company for twenty plus years. He also worked at Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Later, he ventured out on his own as Vince Austin, LLC.
Vincent was a kind-hearted and loving family man who touched many hearts, lives, and homes. Although he was thought to be a quite person, he was very opinionated and direct. He enjoyed family time, sports, working.
Vincent was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Nathaniel Austin.
Though the presence of one so dear is no more, memories are left to be cherished by his wife, Barbara Higgins Austin of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Patricia (Steven) Williams and Rose Ann Green, both of Bowman, SC; three brothers, Roosevelt (Earnestine) Austin, Jr., John (Willie Mae) Austin, both of Columbia, SC; and Kevin (Sandra) Austin, of Bowman, SC; two aunts, Ottalee Little Jamison, Suwanee, GA and Maxine Austin, Orangeburg, SC; two uncles, John (Rosa) Little, Hampton, VA and Benjamin (Jessie) Austin, Cambria Height, NY; mother-in-law, Alice Higgins of Eastover, SC and the late Roosevelt Higgins; sister-in-law, Zina Washington of Blythewood, SC; three brothers-in-law, Roosevelt (Ella) Higgins, of Hopkins, SC, Vinson (Dora) Higgins of Columbia, SC and Alexis Higgins of Eastover, SC; a special niece, Jasmine Kee, who affectionately referred to him as uncle daddy; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends all of whom will truly miss him.
