Tory Jamaal Foust was born on July 15, 1977, in Columbia, South Carolina to Walter and Shirley Nixon Foust. He transitioned to Glory on Friday, January 7, 2022.
Tory attended Irmo and Pelion High Schools.
Tory was an outstanding and efficient self-employed painter. His reputation as a painter spoke for itself. He was constantly being called about job opportunities, sometimes so many he couldn’t keep track of them. If one painting job didn’t work out, he would always be blessed to get another one.
Tory always had strong faith in Jesus Christ. He would often say, “God is always looking out and blessing me in spite of what I do wrong.” Several months ago, Tory completely changed his life and became a born-again Christian who truly demonstrated his faith through his actions and spoken words. He read his Bible and prayed for his family daily and attended church every Sunday. If situations arose, his reply was to just, “Give it to God.”
Tory really loved his family and friends. He had a special and enduring love for his grandmother, Mary. Tory was a true friend until the end. He didn’t know how to say no and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed, even if he wasn’t feeling well.
Tory leaves to cherish his precious memory his parents, Walter and Shirley Nixon Foust; sister, Ashley Victoria Foust of Columbia, SC; brother, Colby Eugene Foust of Pelion, SC; grandmother, Mary Ann Foust; five aunts, Cynthia Nixon, Pamela Foust, Angela Foust, Kathy Foust and Wanda Foust all of Columbia, SC; one uncle, Dennis Foust of Columbia, SC; one niece, Brandie Foust of Baltimore, MD; special cousin, Morris “Pookie” Burgess of Columbia, SC; and a host of other loving cousins, relatives and friends.
