Mr. Scoey Jerome Johnson, the youngest of five children, was born on October 16, 1974 in Columbia, South Carolina to Jacob Johnson, Sr. and the late Betty Thompson Johnson.  Scoey was baptized at Zion Chapel Baptist Church #1 and received Christ at an early age.  God, in His infinite wisdom, summoned Scoey to eternal rest and peace on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

Scoey received his education through Richland County School District One and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1992. Following his high school graduation, Scoey joined the United States Army. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he served four years in the South Carolina National Guard.  He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Information Systems, Master’s Degree in Information Systems Management, and Master’s of Business Administration (MBA).  Scoey resided in Atlanta, Georgia for 25 years.  He was employed by the Veterans Benefits Administration, in Decatur, Georgia, where he was a Veterans Service Representative.  Prior to working with the Veterans Benefits Administration, he was employed by Philips Healthcare and GE Consumer Finance for many years.           

Scoey lived his life for his family, which brought him great joy and happiness. He was well known for his wide smile and quiet, friendly demeanor.

Scoey was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Betty Thompson Johnson; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot (Ernestine) Johnson, Mr. Willie Thompson, Sr., and Mrs. Cora Woods.

His memories will be cherished by his wife of 19 years, Aliandrise “Keta” Edwards Johnson; two daughters, Dejah Johnson of Augusta, GA and Nyah Johnson, the United States Navy; one son, Scoey D’Angelo Johnson; father, Jacob Johnson Sr. of Columbia, SC; four siblings, Regina (Kevin) Belton,  Glenda (Kevin) Wesley,  Jacob (Sheri) Johnson Jr., and Karen (Albertus) Cocklin Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Florence Campbell, Johns Creek, GA; two uncles, Mr. James Johnson, Sr. and Mr. Willie (Cassie) Thompson, Jr.; two goddaughters, Ava Lee, and Jordyn Campbell; brother-in-law Kenneth (Tiffany) Campbell Jr.; grandmother-in-law, Shirley (Henry) Grimes; six nieces; five nephews; six aunts-in-law; seven uncles-in-law; six great aunts-in-law; six great uncles-in-law, and a host other loving relatives and coworkers.
