Mr. Sammie Lee Henry

Sammie Lee Henry was born May 1, 1945 to the late Willie Lee and Rebecca Henry in Gadsden, South Carolina. He peacefully entered into rest on March 23, 2020.

Sammie Lee accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Mark Baptist Church. On July 28, 1966, Sammie married the love of his life, his best friend Yvonne Ethel Oree. They took care of each other through every situation in life and from this union, four children were born.

Sammie humbly displayed all the qualities of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed watching television and was known for his love of top hats.

Sammie Lee was employed at Action Container Company until his disability and retirement.

Sammie Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Rebecca Henry; and siblings, Barbara Williams and Willie Mae McDuffie.

Sammie Lee leaves to cherish his precious memory his beautiful wife of 54 years, Yvonne Ethel Oree Henry; four children, Felicia Jackson and Samuel Henry, both of Columbia, SC, Tamara (Vance) Jones of Irmo, SC and Kwan (Tara) Henry of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, Zshakira Jackson, Sklya Jackson, Edison Jones, Cameron Henry, and Mayson Samuels; siblings, J.C. (Bernice) Henry of Charlotte, NC, David (Beverly) Henry and Carolyn (Wayne) McCleary, both of Columbia, SC and Castene (Charles) Basham of Huntsville, AL; and host of loving relatives and friends.
