Ronald Benjamin Caldwell was born April 1, 1958, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born to the late James Benjamin McCoy, Sr., and Mattie Bell Sutton. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Mr. Caldwell was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. He was baptized at Zion Benevolent Baptist Church, Hopkins, South Carolina.
Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his father, James Benjamin McCoy, Sr., one grandson, Keon Marquis Benjamin Tucker, Sr.; and one brother, Ricky Caldwell, Sr.
Mr. Ronald Benjamin Caldwell leaves to cherish his passing four daughters, Ronda Lisa Weston (Brandon), Chandra Quattlebaum Williams, Rhonda Natasha Quattlebaum, and Saron Nicole Caldwell all of Columbia, S.C.; two sons, Furman Benjamin Quattlebaum and Benjamin Caldwell all of Columbia, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Tieriney Williams, Taylor Williams, Takari Moore, Cory Moore, Jr., Tanijah Logan, Nathaniel Quattlebaum, LaRonda Quattlebaum, and Aniyah Quattlebaum all of Columbia, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Keon Marquis Benjamin Tucker, Jr. and Kinsley Kori Goddard of Columbia, SC; fourteen sisters, Kara Jane Jowers of Columbia, S.C., Victoria Annette Smith of Tacoma, WA, Annette, Sarhanette, Denise, Theresa, Evonne, and Chantell McCoy of Brooklyn, N.Y., Janie McCoy of TX, Vera Anderson of CA, Fatima Small and Jamilla Sharp of Queens, NY, Benzina and Janice Peterson of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, James Benjamin McCoy, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY and OJ McCoy, Jr. of California; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
