Mr. Robert Stokes

Robert Christopher Stokes was born on December 25, 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina.  He was called home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2021.

At an early age Robert became a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church and served faithfully.  He attended Sunday School and Bible Study.  He was a leader, serving as vice chairman of the trustee board and he was also a member of the male chorus.

Robert was educated in the public schools of Richland County.  He was a graduate of C.A. Johnson High School, Class of 1965.  After graduating, Robert joined the United States Army and served for two years.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Louise Stokes; and brother, Joseph Stokes.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his daughters, Felicia Webster and April (Adrion) Jones both of Greensboro, NC and LaKiesha Belton of Columbia, SC; his granddaughters, Ambria Webster, Summer and Sumaya Collins, Ashley and Aaliyah Jones all of Greensboro, NC, and Kianna Martin and Courtney Belton both of Columbia, SC; brothers, Bennie (Evelena) Haynes of Columbia, SC and Walter (Hazel) Stokes of Irmo, SC; sisters, Josephine Myers and Linda (Clyde) Stokes both of Columbia, SC; three aunts, Ida Lee Mason of Columbia, SC, Ruby (Lonnie) Dubard of Columbia, SC, and Peggy Boston of Winston Salem, NC; special friend, Jacquelyn Seymour of Hopkins, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
