Robert Lee Hathaway, affectionately known as “Rob”, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2021. Robert was born on August 12, 1957, in Norfolk, Virginia to Robert Hathaway, Sr. and the late Odessa Blunt.
Robert was educated in the public schools of Norfolk, Virginia, and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.
In 1998, Robert met the love of his life, Maudistina, known to many as his “Queen”. In 2001 they joined together in holy matrimony in New Britain, Connecticut, and remained there for over 24 years before relocating to Columbia, South Carolina.
Robert loved to talk and enjoyed being around people. Everyone who knew him loved him because he never met a stranger. Robert loved his family and found great joy being surrounded by those he loved. Robert had many hobbies which included his love for plants, cooking, and watching his New England Patriots play football.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, David Blunt; and two stepsons, Anthony Silva, and Adrian Silva.
Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving queen, Maudistina Hathaway; two daughters, Brittany Lewis and Olivia Hathaway; nine sons, Lorenzo Fuller, Michael Sanders, Melvin Sanders, Philip Crump, Robert Brown, Jamel Stanley, Demetrius Davis, Joshua Lumpkin, and Robert Hathaway, III; two step-sons, Duane Silva and James Goolsby, Jr.; one brother, Johnny Blunt; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three god-children; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
