Mr. Robert Clinkscales

Robert Clinkscales was born June 6, 1951 in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Mr. Millard Clinkscales and Julia Ann Williams. He departed this earthly journey on early Wednesday morning, October 28, 2020 at PRISMA Heart Hospital.

Robert was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a graduate of C.A. Johnson High School.

At an early age, Robert was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Columbia, South Carolina.  Robert served in various capacities while at Progressive. It would be at this same church that Robert married the love of his life, the late Gladys Elizabeth Davis Clinkscales.

 Robert was employed by the Richland County School District # 2 as a Maintenance Supervisor where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Clink” until he retired. 

Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, his altruistic parents to include his loving stepmother, Janie A Darby Clinkscales. He is also preceded in death by his brother Millard Clinkscales Jr., and his stepbrother John Allen Darby.

Robert leaves to cherish memories, his brother Ralph John Clinkscales (Mary Ann), his sister Patricia Ann Noble-Reedy (Ruth), his aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
