Reginald Dana Wright, affectionately known as Reggie, was born on August 20, 1968, in Columbia South Carolina to the late Myrtle Wise Wright and Robert Wright, Jr. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 21, 2023 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Reggie attended the public schools of Richland County, and graduated from W. J. Keenan High School, Class of 1986. Following his high school graduation, he attended Lynn Haven Vocational School and received his Electrician Certification. Reggie began his employment as a cook, then later decided to pursue his electrician career after moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2001. As a Journeyman, Reggie worked to build hotels, state and federal buildings, commercial buses, and grocery stores.
Reggie was dedicated to his family and had a kind heart. He was an avid reader, debater, and loved to talk about history. Reggie also loved his Dallas Cowboys, traveling, watching old movies, grilling and spending time with his friends. Many would say he was a man of passion who loved to wear all white. Reginald worked hard and was an example that God can and will turn your life around.
In addition to his mother, Reggie was preceded in death by his biological father, Roosevelt Simmon; paternal grandmother, Annie Lee Hamilton Taylor.
Reggie leaves to cherish the love of his life, Jacqueline Ingram; two daughters, Rejonee and Jocelyn Wright of Rockingham, NC; two stepchildren, Nykeem and Nya Jones of Charlotte, NC; father, Robert Wright, Jr of Hinneville, GA; two sisters, Renee (Stanley) Wright Davis and Ebony Simmon both of Columbia, SC; niece, Hannah Davis; nephew, Joshua Davis; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends of all of whom will miss him dearly.
