Perry T. Carter, III, affectionately known as “Tra”, was born on September 14, 1982 in Chesterville, Virginia to Beverly Brown Carter and Perry T. Carter, II. He departed this earthly life on the evening of Saturday, February 8, 2020 after a long illness.
Perry was educated in the public schools of Richland County. He attended Irmo and Dutch Fork High Schools. After earning his General Education Diploma, he furthered his education at Demark and Midlands Technical Colleges.
Perry became a member of Friendship AME Church in Columbia, SC and was baptized at an early age. He served as an acolyte for several years.
Prior to his illness Perry was employed by Fort Jackson.
Perry leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother, Beverly Brown Carter; father, Perry (Bessie) Carter, Jr. of Nottoway, Virginia; grandmothers, Thelma G. Brown and Denora E. Brown of Moncks Corner, SC; one aunt, Nora Milliage of Burton, SC; two uncles, Harold (Eve) Brown and Edward (Rose) Dennis of Conyers, GA; two godmothers, Jacqueline (Thomas) Evans of VA and Mary Miller of Columbia, SC; godfather, Thomas (Tasha) Williams, Jr. of Columbia, SC; god-sister, Tamara Taylor; a special friend, Michelle Massoni; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
