With hearts full of love and pride, we celebrate the remarkable life of Sergeant First Class (Retired) Paul
Lamont Holbert, affectionately known as Andre Kirk — a devoted husband, father, grandfather (“GP”),
son, veteran, Freemason, and friend whose legacy of strength, laughter, and love will never be forgotten.
As a proud member of the United States Army, he served his country with honor, integrity, and
distinction. Among his many accomplishments, Paul served in combat operations in Iraq from October
2005 through 2006, where he carried out his duties with courage and commitment. His leadership and
dedication earned him both the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal — honors that
reflect the depth of his service and the lives he impacted.
While stationed in Germany, Paul also proudly became a Freemason, crossing into the brotherhood with
honor and humility — a testament to his values of loyalty, brotherhood, and service beyond self.
But to know Paul was to know that his greatness extended far beyond his military and fraternal accolades
He was a man who loved hard and laughed often. A devoted husband whose love was steady and true, a
proud father who led by example, a faithful son whose respect and care never wavered, and a fun-loving,
proud GP whose grandchildren lit up his world. Family was the center of his universe, and he made every
moment count — with his presence, his protection, and his endless encouragement.
A die-hard Oakland Raiders fan, Paul cheered with unwavering loyalty, no matter the season. He loved to
travel, explore new places, and soak in every bit of life’s adventure. His stories — rich with humor and
heart — had the power to light up any room and bring people together.
Paul had the rare ability to meet people exactly where they were. He was the one you called when you
needed a laugh, a boost, or a shoulder to lean on. His words were healing, his spirit grounding, and his
friendship irreplaceable. He made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.
We don’t gather in sorrow — we gather in gratitude. To honor a man who gave so much of himself to
others. To reflect on a life filled with purpose, service, and joy. To carry forward the light that Paul
brought into our lives.
Paul is lovingly remembered and survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Wandalyn Holbert, of Atlanta,
GA. He is also survived by his gracious and nurturing mother, Janet Holbert of Oakland, CA, and his
steadfast and honorable father, Herschel Kirk of Berkeley, CA.
He leaves behind his beloved children: Jermaine (Tiffany) Dias of Oakland, CA; Charisma (Samuel)
West of Atlanta, GA; and Christopher Forrest of Atlanta, GA.
As a proud GP, Paul’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Malakiya Dias, Anai
Shedeke, Kai Dias, Xavion West, and Isaac West — each a beautiful reflection of his love, wisdom, and
joy.
He is also survived by his brothers, Sean Kirk and Dante Bullock, both of Oakland, CA; and his dear
nieces, Katara Kirk and Deanna Bullock, who each held a special place in his heart.
